Coming This Season

Rigs on the Doorstep. Yours for Good.

Walk into your rental, find a kit rigged for whatever the Outer Banks is doing that week — mullet rigs if the blues are running, bottom rigs for the slough — and carry it to the beach. When the week's over it goes home with you. No desk to return it to, no clock running.

Owning Beats Borrowing

The OBX rental-gear treadmill, and why we built the exit.

🎣

No Deadline

Rental counters close at six. Your own kit doesn't. Leave it for the next renter, gift it to the kids, haul it back to Charlotte.

🧹

Skip the Rinse Ritual

Borrowed gear comes with rules: hose it down, untangle it, bring it back clean or forfeit the deposit. Yours just gets a quick rinse.

🚚

Waiting on Check-In Day

It beats you to the house. Rods spooled, rigs tied to match the week's bite, bait in the bucket. Casting within five minutes of walking in.

💰

One Week Pays for It

The OBX rental counter charges $199+ for a week of beat-up gear. A kit you keep starts at $109 and survives every summer after this one.

Questions, Answered

When can I actually get one?+

This summer. Waitlist members get the email the day kits go live, and the first fifty signups lock in 10% off their first order.

What exactly shows up at the door?+

Every kit means a spooled combo, rigs hand-tied for what the Banks are doing that month, sinkers, swivels, hooks, leaders, Fish Bites, a sand spike, the bucket, and our printed guide to fishing the Outer Banks. The Family Kit throws in the kid rods and a cooler; the Premium swaps up to a nine-foot Penn Fierce with the full tackle box.

How does delivery work on the ground?+

We stage deliveries for check-in day between 2 and 5 pm and text you a photo once it's at the house — no need to interrupt the grocery run. Need a different window? There's a notes field on the order.

Do I still need a fishing license?+

Anglers 16 and up need an NC Coastal Recreational Fishing License for the surf and the sounds — buy it online at GoOutdoorsNorthCarolina.com in about two minutes (the order confirmation email has the link). The exception: fishing off a licensed pier like Avalon or Jennette's needs no individual license at all.

I've never fished a day in my life.+

You're our exact customer. The printed guide walks through casting, where the fish actually hold (sloughs, troughs, the first bar), and what bait goes on which rig. Stuck anyway? Text us. Most people who order have never rigged a hook.

Where do you deliver?+

Corolla through Nags Head — Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, and Kill Devil Hills included — free on every kit. Hatteras Island runs are coming; ask in the order notes.

Can I restock mid-week?+

Yes — refill packs of rigs, sinkers, hooks, and bait run $15–25. Add them at checkout or text us from the beach on Wednesday when the blues finally show.
