How to fish it here
Slow-roll it along a current seam, or burn it and let a fish hit on the pause. Around inlet mouths and beachfront sloughs, cast it beyond the bar and wind it back just fast enough to keep the tail working. When bluefish are up on bait, a steady retrieve through the edge of the school is usually all it takes. Swap the single hook for a fresh one when it dulls, and check the tail action in the water before the first cast of the day, because a fouled bait swims wrong.
