Why it is on this rack

The Mizmo Specs tube is the small-bait answer for a picky bite. At an inch and a half it is crappie and panfish size, and when the bigger fish have gone quiet a tube on a light jig head is often what still puts a bend in the rod. The solid body and tentacle tail move on the smallest twitch, and fifteen to a pack means you can afford to lose a few to the brush.

How to fish it here

Fish it under a small float for suspended fish, or tight-line it on a light jig head along the bottom. Around the freshwater ponds and the deeper sound creeks, work it slowly and let the tentacles do the moving. It also tempts small inshore fish holding the same structure. The tentacle tail adds movement even when the bait is dead-sticked, so a slow presentation still looks alive in cold or pressured water. Trim the tail if the fish are short-striking, and change the jig weight until the tube sinks at the speed the fish want on the day.
