Why it is on this rack
The Roboworm Straight Tail is the finesse worm for the freshwater ponds and sound creeks around the banks. Hand poured and salt impregnated, it sinks softly and naturally rather than dropping like a stone, which is what a pressured fish wants on the days when it has looked at everything else. Ten to a pack of a bait that has been a drop-shot and shaky-head staple for years.
How to fish it here
Rig it on a drop-shot above the weight so the tail floats and quivers, or on a shaky head and drag it across the bottom. Both presentations keep it in front of finicky fish for a long time. Around marsh edges and creek mouths it also takes speckled trout, especially when a light jog of the rod tip is the only action the fish will respond to. Its soft pour means a light wire hook holds it in place without tearing through, so the bait stays rigged for cast after cast on a picky bite. Let the bait rest after every twitch, because most takes come while it is hanging still, and watch the line rather than the rod tip.
