How to fish it here

Fish it on a jig head, or as a trailer on a bucktail, and keep it moving slowly along the bottom with short hops and long pauses. The take usually feels like weight rather than a tap, so a beat of patience before you lift sets the hook. It also takes speckled trout holding on the same structure. Around inlets and channel edges, drift with the tide and drag it along the drop-off, and expect most of the takes on the pause rather than the hop. Because it is built for a slow retrieve, it stays in front of a bottom-hugging flounder long enough to be eaten instead of passing overhead.
