The numbers behind the card

The card is a snapshot of what the live pages already carry. Nothing on it is written by hand:

Live conditions — the buoy reading behind the surf line.
Today's board — the sinker weight call the card runs.
What's running this month — the season table the card lists.
Fishing reports — the catch reports the card is posted alongside.

How the card is made

A run of npm run social:weekly (scripts/build-weekly-card.mjs) reads the freshest eligible NDBC buoy — the same station call the today board makes — picks the sinker weight for those seas and winds from the site's sinker decision table, pulls what is running this month from the season data, and draws both PNGs into public/social/weekly/ along with the meta.json this page reads at build time.

What lands on the card: the week label, the month, the surf line from that buoy reading, today's sinker call, and the sinker table's print bands. The generator is deterministic — the same reading, month, and day produce the same image — so the card cannot drift from the numbers the site is already publishing. The values on this page above (week, month, station, sinker, generated time) come from that same meta.json, so this page and the image agree by construction.
